Another Green Building Studio Desktop Tool Update

Some improvements are taking place to the Green Building Studio service requiring a new version of the GBS Desktop Tool.

If you receive the following error when attempting to upload gbXML files please make sure you get the new tool from the Green Building Studio Downloads page. This version replaces all others I have posted about recently.

I passed my BREEAM AP exam

 
After several weeks of having my head buried in the BREEAM technical manuals, self study course and various sustainable design reference books, I attended the UK Building Research Establishment yesterday for the final workshop and examination needed to become a BREEAM Accredited Professional. Today I heard that I passed, phew.

With BREEAM becoming more and more prevalent across Europe (not just the UK) I see this as being really beneficial in better understanding the needs of our customers and I'll be looking to see how we can leverage this knowledge with our sustainable design tools.

Autodesk in Aerospace

 
  
The main Autodesk office in the UK is situated on the boundary of Farnborough airport and this week it is the Farnborough International Airshow. As part of this we have a stand at the show and have run some customer events to showcase the use of the Autodesk Product Portfolio across the aerospace industry, from the built environment through to aircraft interior design.

There are plenty of short demo videos on there, including some Revit Architecture, Green Building Studio and Ecotect ones I recorded.

Of course aerospace is a controversial industry due to its environmental impact, but through clean technology and intelligent design I believe that impact can be reduced (if that fails it is back to the horse and cart for all of us).

Updated Green Building Studio Desktop Tool addresses log in error

It has come to my attention that some of you with non-English Operating Systems have been struggling to log in to Green Building Studio when using the GBS DesktopTool to upload gbXML files.

A new version of the tool was posted yesterday that remedies the problem of the "Length cannot be less than zero" error being experienced.

You can download the updated client from the Green Building Studio Downloads page.

This version works on both English and Non-English Operating Systems.

Revit 2011 Solar Radiation Technology Preview Update
