An email from IES yesterday made me aware of a project at the UK's University of Exeter to help the building industry adapt to the problems of climate change. Part of that project includes the creation of future weather data based on projected changes to climate. Interestingly they are providing the weather files for free download in EnergyPlus .epw format. The files include Design Summer Year and Test Reference Year data for 2030, 2050 and 2080:
EnergyPlus.epw files can be converted for use with Ecotect Analysis using the Weather Tool. A tutorial is available on Andrew Marsh's Natural Frequency wiki.
Below are a couple of screenshots from the Weather Tool showing average temperatures for London. The first one is from the 1961-1990 control weather files and the second from the prediction for 2080:
Looks like it could be rather warm here in Summer when I am 110 years old.
