Next week sees Ecobuild 2011 in London and Autodesk will be present with the UK Green Building Council. Unfortunately I won't be there due to other commitments but several of my colleagues will be. Be sure to check out the presentations they will be involved in, listed below.
The one listed first will be really relevant for any of you considering Rapid Energy Modelling, as results from our first pilot project in the UK will be presented. We have worked with the URS/Scott Wilson team on producing models and analysis using Photofly, Imagemodeler, Laser Scanning, AutoCAD, Project Vasari, Ecotect Analysis and Green Building Studio. I've certainly learnt a lot from it, especially how critical it is to follow the prescribed guidelines for Photogrammetry. How close to actual the energy results were from a very quick Vasari model was also a pleasant surprise.

The Government’s chief construction adviser has suggested that Building Information Modelling (BIM) should be adopted for the procurement and management of all public projects. This software is amazing. I have just started to use AutoCad so I am finding my way round slowly. There is so much that can be done with this application.I will be looking at autodesk soon. I am very interested in the energy modeling. Once I am more confident I would love to come to a seminar.
